Our origin story.

With or without help, the first few years in the professional world are a minefield of bad jobs, bad managers, and figuring it out as you go. Learning how to be a professional, and be professional, is a learn-as-you-go process. There’s no one secret sauce for finding success both professionally and personally; it takes patience, self-awareness, and curiosity, and can only be defined for you, by you.

We’re two friends who met at work and bonded over a shared love of spreadsheets, smart goals, and being generally ‘extra’ in the workplace. We’ve both had medium-sized careers in the corporate world (we’re not that old), and faced our share of struggles learning how this whole thing works. Turns out learning how to sit at a desk without losing your soul, grow your career on your own terms, and deal with terrifying things like bosses, money, and how to take a damn compliment and then shut up, is kind of hard?

We believe Relevant Experience can come from anywhere, and chances are - you already have it.

We want to share what we’ve learned about living a work-life that reflects your real life, and learn from an assortment of fine guests in a variety of fields. We want you to be able to kick down the doors of the office and shout “here I am, beech!” -- even if only in your head.

We’re not experts; we’re reframers. We learned the hard way and are here to share our stories in the hopes that you can find a piece of advice that works for you. If we can do it, you can too.

If Millennial pink marketing around #girlbosses and #lifehacks still have you looking for more, you’re in the right place. Pull up a rolly chair, sneak into an unused conference room, and join us. We hope you learn something new - but from yourself, not us.

Meet your work wives.

👋 I’m Gillian, a content strategist and life coach. My work is about helping people discover and tell their true stories, and find the meaningful lessons in everyday life. I love people—learning what motivates them, their strengths, and the stories they hold dear.

I’m a voracious reader, a slow knitter, and I love my morning routines as much as I love changing them. Catch me recklessly slangin’ social science.

👋 I’m Jasmine, and I’m still sort of figuring out what I’m going to be when I grow up. For now, I work in the tech industry supporting learning and development efforts for customer-facing teams. What does that even mean? I basically I provide people with the training and tools necessary to make them better at their jobs. I love bringing order to chaos and helping others find their “aha!” moments.

Outside of work I spend a lot of time listening to music, watching (most of) the Real Housewives franchise, yelling at Californians about the South, and over-caffeinating.
